HEC Paris Students to represent Qatar at Model United Nations

10 March 2011

Students from HEC Paris will represent the country at The National Model UN event, to be held from April 17 to April 23 2011.

Gathering 4,000 students from leading schools across the world, the event replicates the annual General Assembly of the United Nations and takes place each year at its headquarters in New York.
This year around 25 HEC Paris MSc students will play the role of Qatari officials, promoting the interests of the country in the United Nations and negotiating on topics of current economic and political interest with other national representatives.

The event symbolizes the close links that have been forged between Qatar and HEC Paris, the first European Business School to partner with the Qatar Foundation and join Education City in Doha, launching the country’s first Executive MBA program in February 2011. Associate Dean of HEC Paris Professor Eloïc Peyrache said, “This is an excellent opportunity to familiarize our students with Qatar’s unique economic environment and the role that the country is playing in the international community. I am sure this will be a highly beneficial experience for our students as Qatar’s influence in the world grows.”
