HEC Paris, partner of the 2011-2012 Global Competitiveness Report published by the World Economic Forum

30 September 2011

As with every year, Bertrand Moingeon, Professor of Strategic Management and Deputy Dean of HEC Paris, and Edouard Mathieu, HEC Executive Education Associate Researcher, have published an analysis of the World Economic Forum's rankings. Summarizing each country’s performance in a large number of areas, the data for these rankings derives for the most part from a perception poll carried out in the spring in each country by a partner institute. HEC Paris was the partner for France.

This year, the uncertainties of the economic climate in 2012 have pushed France back to 18th place, but it has advanced in terms of technology and innovation. The trio at the top has kept their place: Switzerland, Singapore and Sweden, whilst the United States continues to drop further down in the rankings, taking 5th place this year.
