Social dimension of firms has often been neglected, even outright ignored. Companies are under increasing regulatory and market pressures to step up their social and societal actions and to be transpartent about it.

ESG frameworks makes gaps and shortcomings more visible. ESG frameworks can help companies to have a better social impact.

What actually gets measured under the "s" dimension in corporate ESG frameworks? The authors built a database to analyze the social factors in multiple and diverse ESG Frameworks. How can we make sens of the points of conflict and consensus?

Listen to the interview of Marieke Huysentruyt, professor at HEC Paris and co-author of the report, to understand what is at stakes in this new publication : https://shows.acast.com/619e228472c90f0013b3b617/639b32330010b4001107d42f.

We consider a firm as part of an ecosystem, so if we want to understand the social dimension of a firm, we need to consider its entire value chain.
