“Do countries falsify economic data strategically? Some evidence that they might.” Co-written by HEC Paris affiliate professor Gilles Stoltz and assistant professor Tomasz Michalski, this research article was accepted by the prestigious “Review of Economics and Statistics” last fall. Using Benford's Law, the researchers found evidence supporting the hypothesis that countries at times misreport their economic data strategically.

This research program was conducted as part of the Association of Research and Management Studies at HEC (GREGHEC).
