HEC Paris Professor Florian Hoos, Academic Director and Lise Penillard (H.09), Executive Director of the MSc in Sustainability and Social Innovation who were awarded the "Bruno Roux de Bezieux Prize for the best educational initiative" for the success of their FACT Impact Planet program.
Fact Impact Planet is an experience-based, service learning program based on what its directors call an ecosystem pedagogy approach.
During a four months course at HEC Paris (February-May), mixed L3 and M1 student teams interact and define a mission together with entrepreneurs from developing and emerging countries, before they apply their acquired knowledge during a six weeks field mission at the entrepreneurs’ location (June-July). The program benefits from a partnership with the NGO Im’Prove, financial support from the Sisley-d’Ornano Foundation (“bourses d’excellence Laetitia d’Ornano”), and a network of international partners.
The program’s main objectives are to educate students in terms of responsible business development, expose them to a potential professional career path as social entrepreneur or intrapreneur, and to offer them possibilities for personal and leadership skill development. So far, 189 students performed 57 field-missions in 15 countries.
