Strategy & Business Policy

The Strategy and Business policy department at HEC Paris is home to 16 tenured and tenure-track faculty and 8 clinical faculty comprising 9 different nationalities. The members of the department teach and produce research on all aspects of business and corporate strategy, dealing with issues related to business performance and policy. Our faculty serves on the editorial boards of leading management journals.

The department is involved in the teaching across all the programs at HEC Paris (MBA, Master in Management, MSc, Executive Education, PhD) for both core courses in business strategy and electives. The department also provides the academic foundation for the MSc in Strategic Management offered by HEC Paris.

We have a strong record of academic research with 28 publications in top academic journals (Administrative Science Quarterly, Academy of Management Journal, Academy of Management Review, Organization Science, Strategic Management Journal) between 2011 and 2016. This research focuses on a eclectic set of phenomenon, such as strategic alliances, incentives, and market categories, using a wide array of disciplinary outlooks including sociology, behavioral perspectives and organizational economics.

Our PhD graduates are active scholars who teach at prominent business schools in North America (e.g., Ivey, Purdue, UCLA) and Europe (e.g, Bocconi, Cambridge, INSEAD, Tilburg).

In addition to our regular research seminar series, the annual research day organized by the SNO (Society and Organization) center provides a cross-disciplinary platform for sharing the school's latest thinking on societal issues.
