Strategy & Business Policy
The HEC Strategy and Business Policy department studies management and performance of the corporation. Central phenomena are firms' strategic decisions such as acquisitions, alliances, innovation, technology, entrepreneurship, public-private partnerships, incentives, creativity, and competitive dynamics. Our faculty is also interested in the structural basis of organizational phenomenon, and study institutional logics, embeddedness, and categorization. We are a multi-disciplinary and collegial department that draws on economics, sociology, and social psychology. Our research regularly appears in leading scientific journals, and in the past two years, HEC Strategy ranked among the top 10 strategy departments in per capita publications and in total publications*. Our faculty serves on the editorial boards of leading management journals such as Academy of Management Journal, Academy of Management Review, Global Strategy Journal, Journal of Management Studies, Organization Studies, Strategic Management Journal, European Management Review, and Strategic Organization.
We are committed to training future business leaders, and run the specialized Masters in Strategy, the MBA Strategy track, the MBA Entrepreneurship track, the TRIUM executive MBA program, and numerous Grande Ecole, MBA, Executive Education, and PhD courses. Our PhD students work closely with faculty throughout the program, and have gone on to work in top management departments across the world including INSEAD, Purdue, Western Ontario – Ivey, Oxford, Imperial College, and Bocconi.
