Biographie

Les recherches de Georg Wernicke portent sur la gouvernance d'entreprise et sur la responsabilité sociale d'entreprise (RSE) au sens large. Georg Wernicke s'intéresse plus spécifiquement aux facteurs de désapprobation publique quant aux pratiques des entreprises, comme la rémunération des PDG, la manière dont les activités prosociales des entreprises influent sur la désapprobation et le sous-ensemble d'entreprises et de PDG qui réagissent lorsqu'ils sont visés. Georg Wernicke analyse également la façon dont les caractéristiques et les valeurs des PDG affectent les entreprises, sous forme de mauvais comportements professionnels ou d'adoption de pratiques prosociales par exemple, ainsi que l'impact du statut de minorité démographique sur le marché du travail pour les directeurs après des cas de fraude financière. Georg Wernicke participe par ailleurs à des projets de réflexion sur les performances supérieures observées en matière de RSE.

Georg Wernicke est titulaire d'un doctorat en management de l'Université de Mannheim. Il est aussi diplômé de la faculté University College London et de l'Université Humboldt de Berlin. Il a remporté le prix de Best Dissertation Award de l'Oxford University Centre for Corporate Reputation grâce à sa thèse de doctorat. Ses recherches lui ont valu des prix ou des nominations pour un certain nombre de Best Conference Paper Awards. Plusieurs de ses articles sont à paraître dans Organization Science et Strategic Management Journal, entre autres publications. En tant que réviseur, il a reçu divers Best Reviewer Awards.

Avant de rejoindre HEC Paris, Georg Wernicke a été professeur assistant de gouvernance d'entreprise à la Copenhagen Business School et professeur invité à la Stern School of Business/NYU, à l'Université d'Anvers, à la Kellogg School of Management/Northwestern University et à l'INSEAD. À Copenhague, il a dispensé des cours sur le management, la gouvernance d'entreprise, le développement durable et la responsabilité sociale, ainsi que sur la stratégie et le commerce international. En 2016, il a été nommé pour le CBS Best Teacher Award. À HEC Paris, Georg Wernicke enseigne le management stratégique.
