Biographie

Gilles Laurent est titulaire d'un Ph.D. du Massachusetts Institute of Technology (1978)

Gilles Laurent s'intéresse au Comportement du Consommateur, aux applications des statistiques en Marketing,à la Promotion des Ventes. Il enseigne les statistiques au MBA, la promotion des ventes à HEC, la méthodologie de la recherche en doctorat (à HEC et à Dauphine).

Ses recherches actuelles portent sur les consommateurs âgés, en particulier sur leurs choix de marques (avec Raphaëlle Lambert-Pandraud et Etienne Mullet), l'analyse probabiliste de la fidélité à la marque (avec Cam Rungie), la mémorisation des prix par les consommateurs (avec Marc Vanhuele), les ruptures de stocks (avec Sandrine Macé), le soutien offert par les détaillants aux marques (avec Anne-Sophie Bayle-Tourtoulou) et d'autres sujets. Il a publié des articles dans Management Science, Journal of Marketing Research, International Journal of Research in Marketing, Journal of Marketing, Journal of Consumer Research, Marketing Science, Marketing Letters, et d'autres revues.

Il a été rédacteur en chef d'International Journal of Research in Marketing, et rédacteur en chef invité de numéros spéciaux dans cette même revue, dans Marketing Letters, Décisions Marketing, Recherche et Applications en Marketing. Il est co-auteur de trois livres. Il a été de 1996 à 2002 "academic trustee" du Marketing Science Institute, de 1999 à 2005 Vice-président "Publications" de l'European Marketing Academy, et de 2006 à 2008 Vice-président de l'Association Française de Marketing. Il a organisé différentes conférences internationales, notamment la Marketing Science Conference (1987) et le Choice Symposium (1998). Il a été Doyen Associé, Directeur du Programme Doctoral, puis Doyen Associé, Directeur de la Recherche à HEC Paris.
