Private Equity Off-cycle Analyst - PSP Investments
Not only were the classes enlightening and stimulating, but the company of like-minded students from all over the world was endlessly warm and wonderful.
In my first year at HEC, after gaining a bachelor’s degree in engineering, I found I was able to apply my numerical skills in a range of business matters. I had already spent six months abroad as part of an Erasmus exchange program when I was studying at UPC, but these were nothing compared to my two years at HEC. Not only were the classes enlightening and stimulating, but the company of like-minded students from all over the world was endlessly warm and wonderful. Life on campus is dynamic and exciting, with a plethora of sports and social activities to partake in.
What I do now:
Whilst at HEC, I became attracted to Finance due to its emphasis on meticulous analysis and delivering results. I majored in Finance and HEC helped me find internships: I worked in M&A and Investment Banking in both Amsterdam and London.
Today, I work in the Private Equity team of global investment fund based in London, where I help identify companies in need of funds with the highest potential for return on our investment. A large part of my job involves analyzing industry trends, the operations of our corporate clients and tracking targets.
Tips for engineering students:
Don’t underestimate the skills you acquire at your previous university because they are highly prized in every industry.
Check if the career opportunities that HEC offers you suit your interests before flying to Paris. HEC is a significant investment and you want to be certain that it can deliver on your expectations.
