I have always sought to be a self-driven leader who can identify community problems and initiate solutions to contribute towards the betterment of society.
Having come from a war-torn country, my commitment to promoting peace, brining sustainable developments, and intellectual contributions to peace and business make me an Ambassador of Business & Peace. I have always sought to be a self-driven leader who can identify community problems and initiate solutions to contribute towards the betterment of society. Pushing for more inclusive negotiation process, to include business actors and youths as potential peacebuilders in the Afghan Peace process in 2020, I joined National Youth Consensus for Peace (NYCP) and facilitated talks with the international community and government’s senior officials to obtain their support, and calling for the participation of business associations in political dialogues. In NYCP, I volunteered to help in creating employment opportunities for youths and to provide for the direct involvement of businesses in implementing peace agreements.
In HEC Paris, I will broaden my knowledge, competencies, and networks to promote peace and at the same time increase my inter-culture understanding. I plan to develop initiatives that will promote Business and Peace, i.e. leading practical activities on the HEC Paris Campus, such as organizing discussions and forums, as well as setting up volunteer associations, and councils that will encourage individuals to share their wisdom and work successfully for business and peace with government, and civil society on a local, national, and worldwide level. I will finally opt to form a Youth Business and Peace Network aiming to address business and peace related issues around the world by seeking cooperation from different entities.
In HEC Paris, I will have the opportunity to learn more about a variety of critical issues like the role of private sectors in maintaining peace and stability in war affected countries. That will undoubtedly have a direct and positive impact on my professional growth as a business and peace leader in the future. Moreover, this opportunity will pave the ground for me to help my country, Afghanistan, in bringing peace and sustainable development in the future. Indeed, to understand and to be able to reflect about business and peace, a specific and strong program has to be followed and HEC Paris is providing that.
