21 Democratic Republic of Congo high school students visit HEC Paris

21 students of "Première" (penultimate year of secondary school in the French system) from the Lycée français Blaise Pascal in Lubumbashi (Democratic Republic of Congo) visited the HEC Paris campus in Jouy-en-Josas on 16 January. After a comprehensive tour of the campus led by students from the Grande Ecole, they attended a presentation on both the school and, more broadly, on business school studies and the multitude of possible career opportunities after a management training.

During an study trip to Paris organised by 3 of their teachers, 21 high school students in 1ère class from Lubumbashi (DRC) had the opportunity, between two tourist activities, to visit the HEC Paris campus in Jouy-en-Josas. 3 student ambassadors in the first year of the Master in Management (MiM) programme began by sharing their impressions, advice and student experiences with them during a tour of the campus on a chilly but sunny morning.

Julia Pearn, Marketing and Recruitment Manager for the Summer and Youth programs, with the contribution of Wassime Haouari, Recruitment Manager for the Master's programs, gave a presentation on the school and, more generally, on studies at a business school. The group was also introduced to a number of illustrious HEC Paris alumni, giving them an idea of the wide range of career opportunities available after graduating from a management program. Finally, a Q&A session gave them the opportunity to question the HEC representatives who were facing them on several subjects, such as campus sports clubs or the level of English required to apply for HEC Paris master's programs.

Welcoming this group from the Lycée français Blaise Pascal is part of the HEC's mission to promote and strengthen diversity on its campus, but more broadly to help raise awareness of the courses offered by the Grandes Ecoles among secondary school students, particularly in the field of management, and therefore guide them in their choice of academic path.
