HEC Paris’ shot up the 2019 Economist MBA rankings table, gaining 10 places to reach third in the annual standings by the British weekly. HEC’s MBA program thus ranks first in Europe.

HEC Paris performed impressively in the 2019 MBA table in terms of its potential to network (the internationalism of its alumni and its breadth of network), its salary increases, the number of overseas study trips and the career opportunities it offers (including the number of industry sectors that recruit graduates).

The school also impressed in terms of increasing the pre-MBA salaries. “HEC’s grads boosted their salaries by a whopping 153% to $127,410, the biggest salary increase for any Top 20 school,” wrote Poets & Quants, in an article titled “Big Surprises in Topsy-Turvy 2019 Economist MBA Ranking”. The news outlet also noted that students’ ratings has HEC tying Harvard Business School, only 0.09 points behind first place.

Business schools and potential MBA students regard the Economist top 100 MBA league table as one of the most influential of the global rankings. Its 22 metrics survey full-time MBA students both while they are on the course and when they have just graduated, giving a reflection of their experience on the program.

The four categories in the rankings feature new career opportunities, personal development and educational experience, salary and the network potential.
