Cécile de Lisle (Lavrard-Meyer)

Executive Director Family Business - Development Economics

Dr. Cécile de Lisle (Lavrard-Meyer) is the Executive Director of the Family Business Center at HEC Paris. She is committed to fostering an economy with a human face, with a focus on family businesses corporate responsibility, socio-economic development, and low-income countries.

This commitment has guided her current and past positions as Assistant Professor of Development Economics at Sciences Po Paris and Sorbonne University, as an expert at McKinsey & Company, and as Executive Director of the Purpose Center and the Sustainability & Organizations Center at HEC Paris.

She has published several books and academic articles on economic development, poverty, democracy, corporate social responsibility, including a book on Poverty and Democracy in Peru, a book with a former President of Madagascar on the economic, social, and political challenges of Madagascar, a Development Economics textbook, and a book on corporate purpose and responsibility with business leaders.

She serves on the Supervisory Board of her family group and has served on several Boards and Purpose Committees. She has also been a social entrepreneur in Madagascar, where she founded a fair-trade company.

Dr Cécile de Lisle (Lavrard-Meyer) is a graduate of Sciences Po Paris and HEC Paris (MS). She holds a PhD from Sorbonne University and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Harvard University.
