Accessibility Statement for the hec.edu Website
HEC Paris is committed to making its websites accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities. We continuously work to improve the accessibility of our content and digital services, in compliance with applicable regulations.
Our commitment
HEC is committed to making the hec.edu website accessible in accordance with Article 47 of French Law No. 2005-102 of February 11, 2005, as strengthened by the 2016 law and Decree 2019-768.
HEC Paris is currently implementing a program to enhance digital accessibility, one of the key components of which is the development of a multi-year accessibility plan.
What is digital accessibility?
Everyone should be able to easily use and consult the information and services available on a website, mobile application, or interactive device — particularly individuals with disabilities and/or those using assistive technologies. Digital accessibility refers to all the practices, techniques, and rules designed to ensure universal access.
Compliance status and information about this statement
Despite HEC Paris’ commitment to compliance, the hec.edu website is not compliant with the Web Accessibility Assessment Framework (RAWeb 1.1), which implements EN 301 549 v3.2.1 and WCAG 2.1/2.2 level AA criteria, due to the non-compliances and exemptions listed below.
The compliance audit carried out by Ipedis on the basis of RAWeb 1.1 shows an overall compliance rate of 33.73% (average across all tested environments):
- 28 RAWeb criteria are compliant
- 55 RAWeb criteria are not compliant
- 53 RAWeb criteria are not applicable
The content listed below is not accessible for the following reasons.
Several non-compliance issues are described in this list, some of which appear repeatedly across multiple pages:
- Decorative images are not properly marked as such and are conveyed to screen readers.
- The text alternatives of some informative images are not relevant.
- Some complex images do not have appropriate extended descriptions.
- Some frames (frame/iframe) do not have a title.
- Some frame titles are present but not meaningful.
- Some information is conveyed using color alone.
- Some text does not meet minimum contrast requirements against its background.
- Some user interface components or graphical elements do not meet contrast requirements.
- Some time-based media (audio/video) do not provide text transcripts or audio descriptions.
- Some transcripts or audio descriptions are incomplete or not synchronized.
- Some media do not provide audio description.
- Some media content is not programmatically identifiable by assistive technologies.
- Some media (audio/video) or interactive content (e.g. Flash, Java) are not accessible via assistive technologies.
- Some data tables do not have correctly associated table captions.
- Some table headers (row/column) are not properly defined.
- Some table headers are not correctly associated with data cells.
- The purpose of some links cannot be determined from their accessible name or context.
- Some links do not have an accessible name.
- Some user interface components are not compatible with screen readers.
- Some user interface components are not keyboard operable.
- Some status messages are not correctly conveyed to assistive technologies.
- Some pages do not have meaningful page titles.
- Some changes in language are not programmatically indicated (missing lang attribute changes).
- Some language declarations are invalid or inappropriate.
- Some HTML elements are used for purely visual presentation purposes.
- On some pages, content is not structured with proper headings (h1–h6).
- On some pages, the document structure (landmarks/regions) is not coherent.
- Some lists are not programmatically identified as lists.
- Some quotations are not programmatically identified.
- Information presentation relies on HTML instead of CSS.
- Some content becomes unavailable when CSS is disabled.
- Some foreground/background color definitions are missing in CSS.
- Some non-obvious links are not visually distinguishable (insufficient contrast or no visible focus/hover state).
- Keyboard focus is not always visible on some elements.
- Some hidden content is unnecessarily exposed to assistive technologies.
- Some information is conveyed only through shape, size, or position.
- Some content is hidden at a viewport width of 320px.
- Changing text spacing causes content loss or functionality issues.
- Some form fields do not have associated labels.
- Some related form fields are not properly grouped.
- Some related selection controls are not grouped programmatically.
- Some form buttons do not have a meaningful label.
- Some form fields do not provide proper input validation.
- Some form fields do not provide error identification or suggestions.
- Some form fields do not support autocomplete appropriately.
- Some page regions are not programmatically identified as landmarks.
- Some pages do not provide a “skip to main content” link.
- In some pages, the tab order is not logical.
- Some additional content appearing on focus or hover is not accessible via keyboard.
- Some office documents are not accessible and do not provide accessible alternatives.
- Some moving or animated content cannot be paused, stopped, or controlled.
- Some content is not accessible when device orientation changes.
- Some functionality requiring complex gestures (e.g. drag and drop) does not have a simple alternative.
- Actions triggered via a single-pointer input cannot be cancelled or undone.
The site includes a Google Maps interactive map embedded via an iframe. This third-party content may not comply with accessibility standards. A text alternative is provided.
This statement was established on May 25, 2026 and is based on an evaluation carried out by Ipedis.

This statement is based on the model defined by Implementing Decision (EU) 2018/1523. It complies with the requirements of Article D. 412-57 of the French Consumer Code (transposing Article 13 of Directive (EU) 2019/882) and is founded on the RAWeb 1.1 audit framework (Web Accessibility Assessment Framework, version 1.1, published by the Information and Press Service of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg), which implements standard EN 301 549 v3.2.1 and the WCAG 2.1/2.2 Level AA success criteria.
