KIP quickly became a way to unite the HEC community, gathering a range of nationalities, backgrounds and views.
KEY EVENTS
- We organize at least one event per week, usually interviews or group outings to the Paris city centre. They are open to our members, our partners and, sometimes, the whole HEC community.
- Twice a month or so, we visit the headquarters of a famous French (or foreign) media. In 2018, we visited Le Figaro, The Los Angeles Times, France Télévisions, INA and Elephant Productions among others. We make the most of these visits to meet professional journalists: in the past, we have spoken with Christophe Barbier (BFMTV) and Audrey Pulvar.
- We also spend several weekends a year in a French town. These provide opportunities for team building, filming reports and writing articles about our visits.
- Finally, we organize a conference on campus once a year. Last year, we invited Christophe Deloire, the General Secretary of Reporters without Borders, to talk about freedom of speech in the media.
WHY JOIN THIS SOCIETY?
KIP is the perfect fit for you if:
- You like writing, doing research and sharing your opinion.
- You have a creative mind-set and can contribute to illustrations or videos.
- You are interested in the media industry: more often than not, our members are keen to work in media after graduation. However, this does not constitute a necessary entry requirement.
- You want to meet inspiring people every week and discover places you would not otherwise visit.
- You would like to be involved in a student society with an international outlook: members communicate in English and it’s a great opportunity to make friends from all over the world – and to practise your translation skills.
- In conclusion, you will get to improve your skills in writing, communication, filmmaking, networking and even coding.
