United Kingdom

Friends of HEC Charitable Trust (UK-based charity) collects donations on behalf of the HEC Foundation. Donors based in the UK can therefore benefit from local tax advantages:

Gift Aid: a mechanism under UK tax law allowing the HEC Foundation to receive an additional 25% on top of the donation amount, at no extra cost to the donor.

A donor paying a higher tax rate (above the basic 20% rate) can also receive an additional tax deduction corresponding to the difference between their tax rate and the basic rate—meaning, for example, a 25% tax deduction for someone taxed at 45%.

Example with a £1,000 donation:

Thanks to Gift Aid, the HEC Foundation receives £1,250, at no extra cost to the donor.- A donor taxed at 45% can receive a £313 tax deduction (£1,250 × 25%).The donation therefore costs £688 net after tax reduction.

Sheltered Foundations

Choosing to create a sheltered foundation means opting for a modern form of philanthropic investment and engagement. It means being generous while developing a concrete project designed to make the world a better place; it is the decision to dedicate private funds to a cause of public interest.

The sheltered foundation, placed under the aegis of the HEC Foundation (which became an umbrella foundation in 2010), benefits from numerous advantages and a certain autonomy. It does not have its own legal personality. All management (financial, accounting, administrative) of the sheltered foundation is handled with rigor by the HEC Foundation so that the founder can focus fully on their project. All tax and wealth benefits related to donations granted to the HEC Foundation, as a public interest organization recognized as being of public utility, benefit the sheltered foundation, by extension, for the donations granted to it.

By creating your foundation, you choose the direction of your action and decide concretely on the projects you support. Your entrepreneurial spirit thus places you at the heart of the action. Your foundation can bear your name or any other name of your choice. It is also you who decides the amount you wish to invest in your project, whether it is capitalized or spendable, the durability of your foundation, your degree of involvement… It is you who builds your own philanthropy tool.

Choosing the HEC Foundation to shelter your foundation ensures a team of professionals to support you and a choice of ambitious, relevant, and high-quality projects to develop.

The HEC Foundation is at the service of your school and all generous and committed initiatives that contribute to promoting a European vision of excellence in management sciences and/or that allow the world's best talents to access the center of research and teaching excellence developed within HEC Paris.

Over the years, the HEC Foundation has structured and professionalized itself for the sake of efficiency. Today, it guarantees you customized and effective support.

It is at your disposal and will share in your reflection to help you define the outlines of your project and the objectives to be set, while respecting your ideas, your approach, and your will.

Depending on your needs and wishes, it can suggest projects to support or from which to draw inspiration to build your own; it will provide you with strategic advice and will also be by your side to study the best solution, given your assets and family situation, to fund your philanthropic project.

Choosing the HEC Foundation means investing with confidence.

When you consider creating a sheltered foundation, you must devote time to reflecting on your project to define its outlines. But once your project is defined and your decision is made, the procedures for creating your sheltered foundation are simple and fast. Your project is submitted to the Board of Directors of the HEC Foundation (for acceptance), and then the creation agreement for your sheltered foundation is signed. You provide your foundation with the capital or the flows (depending on the form of financing you have chosen) allowing it to act, and you're off!

Depuis 2010, la Fondation HEC est une fondation "abritante". Ses statuts lui permettent d'héberger sous son égide des fondations dont le périmètre et la mission sont conformes à ceux de la Fondation HEC.
