Prof. Aline Gatignon

Associate Professor - Strategy and Business Policy

Aline Gatignon is an Associate Professor of Strategy at HEC Paris. Prior to joining HEC, she was an Assistant Professor of Management at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. Her research explores how organizations can build collaborative strategies to tackle grand societal challenges, with a particular focus on cross-sector partnerships in emerging markets. She studies how firms engage with non-market stakeholders—including nonprofits, governments, and communities—to foster inclusive and sustainable growth.

Aline’s work has been published in leading journals such as Strategic Management Journal and Organization Science, and has been recognized with several awards, including the Thinkers50 Radar Class of 2025 and the Emerging Sustainability Scholar Award from ARCS. She serves on the editorial boards of Strategic Management Journal and Organization Science and has held leadership roles within the Academy of Management and the Strategic Management Society.

Aline holds a Ph.D. and M.Sc. in Management from INSEAD, and a B.A. and M.Sc. from Sciences Po Paris. She is a dual citizen of France and the United States, and is fluent in English, French, Portuguese, and Spanish.
