About External Funding
Based on your nationality, you may be eligible for specific scholarships and loans. Find out what options might be available below. As the following list is not exhaustive, we also invite you to further investigate what might be available in your home country.
We highly recommend all international applicants to research regional Campus France scholarships available in their home country.
Please note that HEC Paris is not responsible for the outcomes related to scholarships or financial aid provided by external institutions. Candidates are solely responsible for verifying the conditions, eligibility criteria, and disbursement procedures of external funding sources. HEC Paris cannot intervene in the application, allocation, or management processes of external scholarships and loans.

France Excellence Europa Scholarship
The "France Excellence Europa” scholarship is awarded based on academic excellence and is in line with the strategic priorities of the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs. Applications are pre-selected by the college relations teams at the French embassies. The applications are then evaluated within the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs by collaboration specialists from the eligible fields.
The application process and documents to use are detailed on this link, and the deadline to apply is the 30th of April 2025.
Candidates must send their applications electronically to the French Embassy in their country of nationality. List of email addresses by country available at the bottom of this page. The scholarship is awarded for a period of a maximum of 12 months when enrolling in M2, or a maximum of 24 months when enrolling in M1.
The "France Excellence Europa" scholarship does not cover course fees, nor the cost of international or national transportation but it has benefits such as:
- Payment of a half-yearly allowance of €6,850
- Payment of an installation allowance of €1,700
- Exemption from registration fees for national diplomas in universities and public institutions under the supervision of the Ministry of Higher Education
- Priority assistance in finding accommodations in CROUS university residences (rent to be paid by the scholarship holder)
- Enrollment in an insurance plan during the first three months of your stay in France (pending enrollment in the general social security system) for non-European Health Insurance Card holders
- Enrollment in supplemental health insurance
- Exemption from the CVEC - Contribution de Vie Etudiante et de Campus
- Special discounts on cultural activities organized by Campus France.

Eligibility
- Being a national of one of the 26 European Union member states
- Students of French nationality, including bi-nationals, are not eligible for the program.
- Being between 18 and 26 years old at the time of the beginning of your stay in France
- Being admitted to a French higher education institution in Master’s 1 or Master’s 2 for the 2024-25 academic year
- Not being the holder of a French Higher education degree or not being currently registered in France for a Higher education degree
- Not be the recipient of an Erasmus +, AUF or other French ministry scholarship.

Erasmus+ Program
The European Commission Erasmus+ Program allows students following a master abroad to benefit from soft loans until 18.000€ (2-year programs). To be eligible students must live in a programme country and their study destination cannot be in their country of residence or the country where they received their first qualification. Apheon Scholarship
APHEON's in-house foundation, Apheon Philanthropy, has set up a scholarship program to provide financial support to students based in Europe, who are currently completing higher education studies and are in need.
We require the following eligibility criteria:
- You have an excellent academic background
- You are currently pursuing or applying to a master's degree in business or finance
- You do so in one of Apheon’s core geographies: France, Belgium, Netherlands, Italy, Spain, or Germany
- You are in need of financial assistance to continue your educational journey

Scholarships in Germany
In Germany, there are 13 official scholarship foundations founded by the German Ministry for Education & Research.
You can find the full list of these scholarships here and check if you are eligible to apply.
We particularly recommend looking into the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung and the Stiftung der Deutschen Wirthschaft. More information on applying to the Foundation of German Business here. Several HEC alumni have been able to benefit from these two scholarships.
IMPORTANT: Students who have been awarded Konrad Adenauer Stiftung are automatically awarded €5,000 HEC Excellence Scholarship. There is an information session that is organized for laureates of this scholarship who plan to apply to HEC Paris.
You may also be eligible to finance your studies with DAAD (Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst), but it depends on the specific program you are applying for and your eligibility.

Scholarships in the United Kingdom
The Entente Cordiale Scholarship Program is a prestigious awards scheme that funds British postgraduate students who want to study in France. Funded by the French Embassy in London, the scheme provides funding for British students each year.
The Entente Cordiale Scholarships provide students with the opportunity to experience life on the other side of the channel and widen their horizons. Once they become an Entente Cordiale scholar, they become part of an influential alumni network, the Entente Cordiale Alumni Association, which already numbers over 300 members, and through which they will find strong career development opportunities.

Scholarships in Belgium
Fayat scholarship is Flander’s international scholarship programme that supports talented students to obtain an additional master’s degree at an international top institution.
Candidates with a master’s degree from a university or university college in Flanders can qualify for a Fayat scholarship to continue their studies at an international top institution. Here you can read all about the Fayat scholarship eligibility criteria.
The selected students are offered a financial scholarship. The amount depends on the location and type of programme and is intended to cover actual costs such as the enrolment fee, accommodation and living costs, and the cost of flight or train tickets to and from the destination.
The costs of education, in particular the enrolment fee at the foreign educational institution, are fully reimbursed.
Accommodation and living costs are reimbursed according to the cost of living in the host city.
For the travel costs, a lump sum is granted on the basis of the location.

France Excellence Descartes: The France Excellence Descartes scholarships are reserved for students with a serious, coherent, and well-motivated study project in France.
Application Deadline: The deadline for submitting applications is April 30, 2025.

Lebanon
The LIFE Scholarship
The LIFE Scholarship programme is open to the best and brightest Lebanese students in financial need. LIFE attracts the most talented students through its strong partnerships with select universities in Lebanon and abroad.
Undergraduate applications are accepted for universities within Lebanon only, while graduate applications are accepted solely for universities abroad.
To be eligible for a LIFE Scholarship, you must meet the following 5 criteria:
- Be Lebanese or of Lebanese descent
- Pursuing a degree in the fields of Economics, Finance, Engineering, Computer Science, Corporate Law, or Mathematics
- Be in demonstrable financial need
- Have and maintain an excellent academic record (at or above 80th percentile)
- Have drive and ambition to be the next leader in your field

The LIFE Scholarship is up to $4,000 for a student in Lebanon and $12,000 abroad per year.

The Alexis & Anne-Marie Habib Foundation
The Alexis & Anne-Marie Habib Foundation seeks to identify bright, academically talented, disadvantaged high school and university students in Lebanon and to provide them with long term financial support so that they can maximize their educational potential.

Turkey
Jean Monnet Scholarship
Jean Monnet Scholarship Program, as one of Türkiye’s longest and most prestigious project, have been carried out with an agreement between the Republic of Türkiye and the European Commission in 1989.
You can find more information regarding selection criteria, eligibility requirements and amount of scholarships here.
IMPORTANT: For students relying on the Jean Monnet Scholarship to fund their studies at HEC Paris, we recommend applying in Round 4, as the scholarship results are announced closer to June. Please note that HEC Paris does not allow deposit payment extensions while waiting for scholarship results.
India
Charpak Scholarship
This scholarship is designed for one to two years of studies in France at the Master’s degree level for all streams and fields of study.

Narotam Sekhsaria Scholarship
Narotam Sekhsaria Scholarship allows meritorious students to pursue postgraduate studies at prestigious institutions in India and abroad in Pure Sciences, Applied Sciences, Social Sciences and Humanities, Law, Architecture and Management. It grants a loan to its beneficiaries up to INR 20 lakhs, exclusive of interest.

The JN TATA Endowment
The JN Tata Endowment Scholarship provides Indian nationals with loan scholarships for higher education abroad.
These scholarships are available based on individual merit. Depending on whether the student meets the eligibility requirements, the scholarship amount may range from INR 1,000,000 to INR 10,000,000.

National Overseas Scholarship Scheme
The National Overseas Scholarship aims to empower low-income students from marginalized communities, including the Scheduled Castes, Denotified Nomadic and Semi-Nomadic Tribes, Landless Agricultural Labourers, and Traditional Artisans. The scholarship supports their pursuit of higher education, such as Master's degree or Ph.D. courses, by providing opportunities to study abroad, ultimately contributing to their economic and social upliftment.

Study a Master’s in Europe Scholarship
To apply for this scholarship:
- You must have applied (or will apply) to a university or graduate school within Europe (see the FAQs below for an official list of European countries).
- You must have applied (or will apply) for a Master's-level degree starting in the Fall of 2025.
- The degree program must be studied in Europe or online via distance learning from a European institute.
- You must meet the entry requirements for the university or graduate school, including:
- Holding a valid undergraduate (Bachelor's) degree
- Meeting language requirements for the program
- You must hold or be eligible to apply for a relevant study visa (if applicable).
- You must be studying abroad in a country:
- Where you do NOT hold citizenship
- That you do NOT currently reside in (unless currently studying abroad).
The scholarship will be awarded for the Fall 2025 semester onwards up to a value of €5000, and is open to students from any country who will be studying a Master's degree abroad at a European university or graduate school.
The application period ends on May 15, 2025 at 12:00 CEST.

France Excellence – Yersin Scholarship for Hong Kong and Macau students
Since 2000, the French Consulate has supported more than 140 students from Hong Kong and Macau to pursue a Master’s degree in France.
The Alexandre Yersin Excellence Scholarship goes hand in hand with promoting the excellence, diversity and quality of French higher education, and encouraging deeper cooperation between France and Hong Kong as well as France and Macao. Through the scholarship, we aspire to create remarkable leaders who strive for further developments and international understanding in their respective fields.
The scholarship covers one year of studies and training in a Master 1 or Master 2 (grant period cannot exceed 2 years). Benefits include:
- Living allowance of 860€ per month
- Exemption of EEF (Études en France) platform fee (HKD $1800)
- Exemption of visa application fee (50€)
- Exemption of the registration fee (frais d'inscription) at public institutions: 3770€ for a Master degree (depending on the nature of the degree, the registration fee might differ)
- Social welfare, public liability and repatriation insurance
- Free additional health insurance (mutuelle) which costs 300€ for non-laureates
- A public accommodation will be provided by Campus France at below market rent (300€-600€ against 800€-1000€ at a private accommodation)
- Meal discount at university restaurants with meals at 1€
- A dedicated team from Campus France that organizes social and cultural activities to help students settle in France
- Round trip flight tickets from Hong Kong to Paris*
*To be confirmed each year
Eligibility
- Hong Kong or Macau permanent residents ;
- Planning to pursue a national Master’s degree or equivalent in France from 2024. For programs lasting more than 1 year, a renewal application will be required ;
- Not holding French nationality or dual citizenship which includes French nationality;
- No concurrent scholarships except from your institution*
- *If you institution grants you a scholarship/ fee waiver and you obtain the France Excellence Scholarship, your institution will need to provide a letter acknowledging and agreeing to the accumulation of the 2 scholarships;
- Non-French speaking laureates are encouraged to take French classes during their studies in France
- If you are doing a double degree, the home institution that you registered at must be in France and only the period where you study in France will be covered
- If you take a gap year in between M1 and M2, your scholarship will automatically end after M1 and you will not be eligible for M2.

Brain Capital
Brain Capital offers you an innovative model for financing your studies.
You have the chance to study regardless of your personal financial background and without the burden of paying your tuition fees.
Our education funds are based on the model of the Reverse Generation Contract (UGV). The key feature is that students pay a fixed percentage of their income after graduating and reaching the minimum income level. Through their payments, they enable new students to study.
The prerequisite for an application is an EU citizenship or a permanent work and residence permit within the EU as well as a basic knowledge of German. If you meet these criteria, you can apply to us. Applicants from UK, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Switzerland, Canada, the USA, Australia and New Zealand may also receive funding in individual cases.

Lendwise
Lendwise is a specialist loan provider based in the UK which is dedicated to education finance for individuals who are looking to fund their studies at world-class universities.
Lendwise’s aim is to enable access to education through its affordable and flexible student loans that come with a fixed interest rate and no early repayment penalties. Most banks will provide loans for study at HEC Paris to French nationals or residents with pre-established banking credentials at very low interest rate. We have excellent relationships with local branches of national banks. Most banks will require to have a financial guarantor from France or sometimes based in the EU.

HEC's Indian admitted students and applicants are able to access 90% of the education loan lending market with a click of a button via GradRight's Fundright platform. Loans are offered to Indian nationals on FundRight by banks, NBFCs, and international lenders.
HEC does not charge any fee from students or GradRight for this service.
