Accounting and Management Control
If we wish to comprehend a company’s organizational structure and make the relevant decisions concerning its management, it is vital that we understand how the company accounts for its activity.
Research in the Management Accounting faculty includes topics such as management control systems (MCS) and practices, performance management and measurement systems (PMMS), the role of management accountants, organizational learning, organizational identities and sense-making, and gender issues. The Financial Accounting faculty conducts positive empirical research in areas such as international accounting, earnings management, governance, auditing, bankruptcy prediction, goodwill and intangibles.
The department includes more than 15 professors and 6 doctoral students, both in Financial and Managerial Accounting.
The MSc in Accounting & Financial Management is a dense and balanced program linking Financial & Managerial Accounting, Corporate Finance and Strategy. The course is professionally oriented, with teaching by HEC Faculty as well as industry leaders from consulting firms, financial advisory firms, and the ‘Big 4’ (PWC, EY and Deloitte).
