Biography
Olivier Younès, PhD is an Affiliate Professor at HEC Paris (Entrepreneurs track), where he teaches technology entrepreneurship, venture capital, and Silicon Valley strategies.
He spent ten years as a venture capital investor, building a portfolio of around twenty technology companies that generated significant returns.
He is the founder of EXPEN, an independent investment bank specialized in technology, advising on fundraising and M&A transactions across Europe and the United States (over 200 transactions advised, representing €2 billion). EXPEN was recognized by Acquisition International as “Best International Tech Transaction Advisor.”
His work focuses on how technology companies build and execute value creation trajectories, particularly through the structuring of their “equity story” and preparation for strategic transactions (fundraising, exits). His approach aims to bridge European practices with Silicon Valley standards.
He regularly advises investment funds, financial institutions, and large corporations.
He has also taught and collaborated with leading innovation ecosystems, including University of California, Berkeley and Singularity University.
His doctoral research explores private equity models inspired by Silicon Valley practices. He has been recognized among the “30 Tech Influencers” by the MIT Technology Review and as one of the “Deal Makers of the Year” by DealMakers Monthly.
