Accounting is often described as the language of business and mastering it is essential for anyone who wants to succeed in the corporate world.

That is why I chose to build a strong foundation at the HEC Paris Accounts and Restructuring  Summer Program, taught by world-class professors such as Olivier Levyne and Hervé Stolowy, ranked the no.1 accounting professor worldwide. Their approach helped me strengthen my skills and gain a deeper understanding of accounting.

After the Accounting block, I took the Private Equity course, focused on structuring and executing Leveraged Buy-Out transactions. What made this course stand out was the use of real-life case studies drawn directly from Professor Levyne’s 30+ years of industry experience. Beyond transaction practice, he provided invaluable insights, such as interview preparation and key caveats to more efficient ways of addressing financial challenges, making the course highly relevant for anyone aiming to be industry ready.

Both courses included team projects, which offered an excellent opportunity to collaborate with peers from around the world. Working with colleagues who brought diverse perspectives and problem-solving approaches mirrored the dynamics of an international work environment.

Overall, the knowledge and openness to collaborate of Professor Levyne is the key selling point of the HEC Paris learning experience, alongside the international environment that the University offers. The quality of these two courses is high and taking both of them has undoubtedly been a great learning experience from a personal and professional standpoint
