The HEC Imagine Fellowship has been my bridge to a new world.
Mohammad arrived in France from Afghanistan in August 2025 and joined the HEC Paris campus shortly thereafter. He was welcomed by Agnès and his mentor, Fadi Salahedin (an Imagine M2 student). All the Imagine Fellows present on 28 August shared their first lunch in the cafeteria just a few hours after his arrival.
He holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Telecommunications from Kabul University and a BA in Computer Science and Cybersecurity from the American University of Afghanistan.
During his year at HEC, Mohammad aims to develop several initiatives, including an interdisciplinary platform where students from conflict zones co-create social enterprise models, a mentoring programme connecting HEC students with start-ups in emerging economies, and panels on digital inclusion and its role in conflict prevention.
