Mayada, Soudan

Imagine Fellowship provided me with a necessary milestone to lead responsibly with a vision.

The first Fellow of Sudanese nationality, she holds a degree in general medicine from Sudan, as well as a Master’s degree in Human Rights and Humanitarian Action from Sciences Po Paris. She ran an entrepreneurial project from 2016 to 2021 (installing solar cells on clothing made from sustainable fashion materials). Mayada also worked as a consultant for the World Bank for nine months (developing training materials to combat female genital mutilation), and served as a Young Leader for Sustainable Development Goals from 2022 to 2024 with the United Nations Youth Office. She is currently studying a Master’s in Sustainability & Social Innovation and arrived on campus on 1 September for the Masters programmes’ welcome day. Mayada intends to play an active role in the Paris Peace Forum. She also wishes to promote the Business & Peace culture on campus and proposes to work on setting up a laboratory dedicated to developing innovative solutions in the areas of sustainability, the environment and conflict-sensitive investment, drawing on her UN network. She will also continue to work towards the reconstruction of Sudan through economic diplomacy.
