Yasser, Syria

As a Syrian, it hurts me to see my homeland in such devastating conditions, especially given its rich history and culture. As someone who had to flee with his family from Syria and move to Germany in 2013 due to the war, I was fortunate enough to continue my education and live in diverse international communities. Growing up in various international settings has enabled me to develop the skills necessary to foster business and political relations between the Middle East and the West. Through interacting with people from diverse backgrounds, I have learned how to effectively collaborate with individuals of all nationalities, genders, and races. During my time at HEC Paris, I hope to educate my classmates about the Middle East and its emerging markets, including the misconceptions and business opportunities, and to represent the region.
