Eloïc Peyrache Nominated HEC Paris Dean

Following a four-month international recruitment campaign, Professor Eloïc Peyrache has been unanimously nominated by the HEC Board of Directors as the Director General and Dean of HEC Paris.

In conformity with the HEC Paris statutes, a Recruitment Committee for the future Director General was constituted in September 2020. This committee was composed of 12 members – the President of the Board of Directors, the President of the Governance Committee, three representatives of the CCI Paris Ile-de-France, a representative of the HEC Foundation, three faculty representatives and two qualified personalities, presided by Daniel Bernard, President of the Governance Committee. It was counselled in its recruitment campaign by the Korn Ferry Cabinet, which was assigned to pursue a global recruitment drive.

Thanks to the school’s international reputation and the all-encompassing nature of the post – Dean and Director General – this recruitment campaign received highly-qualified candidacies corresponding to the academic criteria of excellence and managerial experience which the recruitment committee had fixed itself.

After a rigorous four-month procedure, five final candidates – three external and two internal – were interviewed in Paris by the Recruitment Committee. In the course of the interviews - which were notable for the richness and depth of the exchanges with each candidate –, the candidacy of Eloïc Peyrache emerged as a clear favorite.

In consequence, the members of the Recruitment Committee agreed on recommending to the governance bodies of HEC Paris their nomination of Eloïc Peyrache as Director General and Dean. In keeping with this recommendation, the latter was appointed unanimously on Monday, January 18, 2021, at the end of an extraordinary session of the Board of Directors. His mandate runs until June 30, 2025.

Eloïc Peyrache graduated from Ecole Normale Supérieure at Paris-Saclay. He holds an economy agrégation, a Master’s in mathematical economy and econometry from the Toulouse School of Economics (TSE) and a doctorate in economy. He has been Professor at HEC Paris since 2003 and is former Director of Pre-experience Programs, followed by a period as Dean of programs. Since October 12, 2020, he has been the Interim Dean of HEC Paris, following the resignation of Peter Todd.

The Board of Directors of the school is delighted with this nomination and would like to assure Eloïc Peyrache and all the school’s staff of its total confidence in their capacity to address the numerous challenges in the years to come.
