Octavio Augusto de Barros

Octavio Augusto de Barros is a postdoctoral research fellow at the Sustainability & Organizations (S&O) Institute at HEC-Paris and an associate researcher at Insper Metricis. He holds a Ph.D. in Business Economics from Insper – Institute of Education and Research, with a research stay at the Gies College of Business – University of Illinois. 

His research explores how different organizational strategies shape socio-environmental impact, with a particular focus on vulnerable communities. Octavio is a specialist in impact assessment, governance structures, and corporate social responsibility. Before transitioning to academia, he spent about eight years as a social entrepreneur, dedicated to building bridges between sociocultural projects with corporate sponsors.
