Program

The program is run over a period of 24 months and is composed of 4 components – Fundamental phase courses, Degree phase courses, a 12-month team project and a Master’s thesis, which on average takes 6 months to complete.

Participants follow 7 mandatory courses and then choose between option 1 or option 2 in the grouped electives to complete the 10 courses for this part of the program.

Participant Profile

Young professionals with a minimum of 2 years and a maximum of 8 years of working experience, wishing to prepare for a career as an entrepreneur or intrapreneur, a consultant in Innovation Management, or a decision-maker for launching innovative projects and making R&D investments.

Prerequisites and Admission Criteria

Candidates for the program must have: a bachelor's degree, a minimum of 2 years of professional experience, and a good command of English. Candidates will also be required to submit a potential project idea. The GMAT or GRE are desirable but not mandatory.

Many aspiring entrepreneurs are held back from following their dreams, often because they lack access to cutting-edge knowledge and practical tools. Balancing professional and personal commitments further complicates the journey. The MSIE program at HEC Paris is designed to overcome these challenges: it provides state-of-the-art courses and a meticulously crafted entrepreneurship toolbox, developed by HEC professors to address the realities of today’s startup landscape.

LEARNING AND EVALUATION METHODS

The fully online nature of the program allows participants to acquire new knowledge and skills without having to compromise their personal and professional commitments, while benefitting from direct interactions with HEC Paris Faculty, and personalized support from an HEC Paris Program Manager. 

The project-based learning activities combine asynchronous courses, interactive webinars facilitated by HEC Paris professors, and team coaching by business leaders, or program alumni.

APPLICATION PROCESS

Our aim is to find out more about your personal motivation and skills and enable us to understand how this program will help you achieve your professional goals. The final selection is based on your online application, including written essays, recommendations and an online video presentation of your project and motivations.

FINAL ADMISSION DECISION : When completed, your application will be submitted to the MSc in Innovation and Entrepreneurship Admissions Committee for the final decision. In some cases you may be invited to an online interview with one of the Program Directors. Admissions decisions are communicated within 2-3 weeks of submitting your application depending on whether we require an additional interview with you.

HOW TO APPLY

You will need to upload the following documents to complete your application:

  • A copy of your university transcripts
  • A copy of your degree
  • Résumé (CV) and 2 online letters of recommendation
  • 3-minute online video pitch. The video presentation should focus on your motivations for participating in the program and highlight examples of how you have demonstrated an entrepreneurial mindset during your career. These examples can be from either within or outside your current company. In order to submit your video pitch you will need to post it on YouTube. Participants based in China can use YouKu. Please provide us with a private link to the video in your application file. 
  • Non-refundable application fee of €100
  • If you have completed the GMAT or the GRE you may upload your results. Please note, that although the submission of a GMAT or GRE score is not mandatory, it will be taken into consideration for those who have taken the exam
  • If you are currently enrolled, or have completed, the Innovation Management & Entrepreneurship Mastertrack™ Certificate you will need to submit your proctored exam results in order to earn credits towards the degree.

Tuition Fees and Funding

The program fee includes tuition during training hours

Program Eligibility:  RNCP : Diploma in "innovation and entrepreneurship" from the file 39423 (registration date in the RNCP: 22/07/2024; certifying body: Higher Education Institution HEC Paris). This training program is linked to Skill Block 05 of the RNCP Certification 39423. This action alone does not grant the RNCP 39423 diploma; all certification blocks must be completed. In order to allow employees and job seekers to progressively acquire these skill blocks, certifying bodies (ministries, training organizations, professional branches) must structure their certifications into homogeneous and coherent skill units. This structuring enables their recognition as parts of certifications that can be eligible for professional training funding.
