Biography

Amin Yousefi is an Assistant Professor of Management and Human Resources at HEC Paris, Doha. His research and teaching focuses on how managers develop and sustain organisational capabilities in contexts marked by uncertainty, change, and complex social challenges.

As a trained organisational ethnographer, Amin has a strong interest in conducting immersive research and direct engagement with organisational life. This perspective also grounds his teaching approach, where he equips participants with practical interpretive frameworks and analytical tools to navigate complexity, make sense of organisational dynamics, and address real-world business challenges effectively.

A significant area of Amin’s expertise is the application of visual methods in organisational research. Throughout his fieldwork, he has captured and analysed thousands of photographs to gain deeper insights into organisational processes and practices. He actively integrates visual methodologies into his courses and workshops, using images to enhance observation, stimulate critical discussion, and strengthen participants’ ability to interpret organisational situations from multiple perspectives.

Amin holds a PhD in Strategic Management and Entrepreneurship from the Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University. He was also a Visiting Scholar at Cambridge Judge Business School, University of Cambridge, and a Guest Lecturer at Amsterdam Business School. Prior to his doctoral studies, he earned an MSc in Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE).
