Summer Student Story
This program offered exactly what I was seeking: an academic environment rooted in real-world challenges, with passionate professors, insightful guest speakers and practical case studies from iconic brands.
The first time I heard about the HEC Paris Summer School programs was during my MSc in International Business Management in the UK. At the time, I was actively looking for a short and high-quality program to deepen my understanding of sustainability, as I aspired to work in sustainability consultancy. That search led me to the Business and Climate Change* program at HEC Paris.
Three years later, I am now a sustainability consultant specializing in ESG audits and sustainability reporting. As my expertise has grown, so has my interest in applying it to the luxury industry. This interest was sparked while working on a sustainability reporting project for a renowned luxury Maison. The project revealed the complexity and richness of the sector where heritage, craftsmanship and artistic creation meet modern challenges like transparency and environmental impact.
It was then that I thought again of HEC Paris and discovered the New Luxury: Artistry & Sustainability for Value Creation program. It felt like the perfect continuation of my journey to explore how sustainability can be meaningfully integrated into a sector where tradition and innovation coexist.
This program offered exactly what I was seeking: an academic environment rooted in real-world challenges, with passionate professors, insightful guest speakers and practical case studies from iconic brands. The site visits gave us a behind-the-scenes view of the luxury world, helping me understand the industry and the sustainability gaps that need to be addressed. More importantly, it gave me the conceptual and strategic tools to help Maisons rethink their value creation through a sustainability lens.
For anyone interested in the intersection of luxury, sustainability and innovation, I would highly recommend this program, whether you are a student exploring career options or a professional looking for a specialization.
