Daniel Brown
Daniel Brown is Head of Research Communication at HEC Paris, where he turns complex research into stories that speak to real-world choices. A former award-winning Senior Staff Reporter at Radio France International, he has spent more than four decades in journalism and storytelling.
For the past decade, Daniel has been working fulltime with HEC Paris research academics and PhD students to transform their work on business, inequality, sustainability, geopolitics, etc, into articles, podcasts, and public conversations. Before joining HEC, Daniel reported for dozens of different media outlets, notably RFI (22 years), crisscrossing Africa and beyond.
He helped launch Euronews, ran the English edition of Mondomix.com, produced the Music Desk for Liverpoolís International Slavery Museum, and has written for outlets such as The Guardian, Le Monde diplomatique, and the International Herald Tribune. He has interviewed figures like Nelson Mandela, Wole Soyinka, Tony Benn MP, Pelé, Miriam Makeba, Ray Charles, Nadine Gordimer and Clint Eastwood.
Daniel has also ghostwritten a memoir (published by Seuil), led journalism workshops from Lagos to Lilongwe, and served as vice chair of Freemuse (an NGO defending artistic freedom). A lifelong globetrotter, he draws on field reporting, museum work, and classroom teaching to help researchers reach audiences beyond the campus walls.
