The new IPCC Lead Author on Industry is an HEC Paris academic

Fernando J. Díaz López, Ph.D., Director of HEC Paris’ Climate & Earth Center, has been appointed Lead Author for the IPCC’s Seventh Assessment Report (AR7, 2025–2029) on climate change mitigation. His expertise in decarbonization, circularity, and eco-innovation will contribute to shaping global climate action ahead of the 2028 Global Stocktake under the Paris Agreement. Read more

NEW Bold Thinkers podcast

The Impact Company Lab's new podcast, BOLD THINKERS, highlights voices from megacities like Kinshasa to inspire leaders to connect, build bridges, and invest in tackling critical sustainability challenges.

2050 NOW: an immersive learning experience

This ICL's event engaged on April 26, 2024 300+ participants in exploring how businesses can address future challenges like climate change and demographic growth through sustainable strategies.

BUSINESS CLINICS

ICL created some Business Clinics that use collective intelligence and real-world insights to tackle topics like Business & Human Rights, AI & Impact, and inclusion. The first Clinic, launched with Schneider Electric, explored social labeling for products. More Clinics are in development with other partners.

STUDIOS

ICL launched 4 studios as part of an MBA course to help students explore complex topics like religion in corporate life, fairness in business, and megacity challenges. These sessions aim to foster critical thinking and awareness of biases.

Inclusive Economy Day On April 13, HEC's first-ever Inclusive Economy Day, held in France, brought together academics from prestigious institutions to explore how experimental research can assist real-world organizations in addressing concrete social challenges.

TEACH

Engagement  Track: Starting in September, approximately 400 first-year students will participate in the engagement track, aiming to develop future leaders' commitment to environmental and social causes, ethics in work, and organizational responsibility. This program encompasses elements like 30 hours of volunteer work and a 3-week internship in a company.

Climate Day: The second HEC Climate Day featured discussions on phasing out fossil fuels, policy challenges, and the impact on vulnerable populations during the transition to renewables, along with successful case studies.

SASI Master: Celebrating the 20th anniversary of the Master in Sustainability and Social Innovation (SASI) on May 14, over 300 alumni shared inspiring stories of their impactful professional journeys.

Inclusive Economy: The Antidote to “a World on Fire”? 

In 2020, the Society & Organizations Institute (S&O) marks 12 years of research on the notion of an inclusive global economy with the report “Inclusive Business: What it is and Why it Matters”. This third S&O report studies the roles of the private and public sphere, as well as civil society, in addressing the fundamentals of an inclusive economy and business. It is part of a platform framework led by 40 CEOs in a coalition called Business for Inclusive Growth (B4IG).
