Revyze: the Social App Transforming How Students Study

Florent Sciberras, co-founder of Revyze, turned peer-to-peer learning into a social platform used by over one million students in France.

Founded in 2022 by Florent Sciberras, Guillaume Perrot, and Anatole Blanc — three HEC Paris graduates — Revyze is a social learning app inspired by short-form video platforms. Built to democratize access to quality education, the app enables middle and high school students to learn through short videos created by their peers. After rapid early traction and more than one million users in France, the startup raised $6M from top-tier investors to strengthen its product and technical teams.

The problem

French students often struggle to find learning resources that match the way they actually study. When the founders of Revyze interviewed more than 300 students, they were told: “No one has ever asked us how we like to learn.” They knew they were onto something.

Teenagers overwhelmingly preferred learning with friends who “talk like them” and “understand their context,” using short videos, class Instagram groups, and informal exchanges. Yet the existing educational system — one teacher, 30 students, one teaching method — doesn’t adapt to 30 different ways of learning.

Meanwhile, educational content on mainstream platforms (e.g., TikTok’s 200B views on the hashtag LearnOnTikTok) isn’t built for structured learning. This gap revealed a major opportunity.

We noticed that the educational system hasn't changed much in over 100 years. You still have one teacher, 30 students, one way of teaching, and 30 ways of learning.

The solution

Revyze is a peer-generated learning platform designed specifically for students:

  • A social media–style interface built around short, engaging videos

  • Content created by students for students

  • Support for revising middle- and high-school subjects

  • A growing community where creators help others — and gain confidence doing so.

To strengthen retention, the team recently introduced:

  • Capsules: Duolingo-inspired paths combining videos and quizzes
  • Flames: a rewards system encouraging daily use

The goal: make learning as engaging as TikTok and as habit-forming as top consumer apps.

Key Figures

  • 1+ million users
  • Videos surpass 10M views
  • One in three 9th-grade students in France used Revyze to prepare for their 2024 national exa
  • $6M seed round, backed by Speedinvest, Moonfire, Motier Ventures, Station F, and angels from Supercell, King/Candy Crush, and Duolingo

How They Did It

Revyze was founded by three HEC Paris alumni with complementary strengths:

  • Florent Sciberras, ex-Airbnb for 10 years, now co-CEO focusing on growth, community, and content.

  • Guillaume Perrot, co-CEO in charge of Product & Design

  • Anatole Blanc, CTO

The journey began with six months of field research in high schools before any code was written. Guillaume and Anatole learned to code from scratch to release the first version in spring 2022 — quickly attracting 20,000 users, which enabled the company’s official launch.

The team emphasizes:

  • Weekly user interviews and rapid iteration
  • A strong sense of mission and values shared by all three founders
  • Support from the Incubateur HEC Paris, where they benefited from a network of entrepreneurs and mentors

As Florent puts it, ambition, vision, and persistence are essential and founders must surround themselves with people who share their values and passion.

Join forces and recruit people who are passionate about your mission, who learn very quickly, share your values, and with whom you would enjoy having a drink.

What’s Next?

With its $6M seed round, Revyze is building a stronger technical and design team to create the world’s leading social learning platform for Gen Z and Gen Alpha. The immediate priority is to reinforce the product in France, expand features, and deepen retention before exploring monetization and a new international rollout.
