Entrepreneurship and Digital Innovation HEC–TUM Summer Program

Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis, starting on January 5, 2021. The Admissions team will strive to get back to all applicants quickly. Applicants will receive admission results within two to three weeks after having successfully submitted their application.
The Summer School welcomes diverse participant profiles. Participants included university-level students, recent graduates and young professionals who are seeking to discover a new domain. Participants include students at the university and Master’s level as well as young professionals who are seeking to discover a new domain. The summer class regularly includes participants from over 50 nationalities.
The summer pedagogy is designed to take into account differences of age and experience. The average participant is 23 years old. At minimum, participants must be 19 years of age at the time of the program start.
Summer Programs are only offered in June and July.
HEC Paris Summer Programs are intensive two-week courses taught in English. All students are expected to be proficient in English.
The following elements fulfill the English language requirement:
- Evidence (e.g., transcript) of coursework completed in the English language or
- English language proficiency test score report (such as TOEFL or TOEIC or IELTS or Cambridge)

In certain cases, the Admissions team can also grant a phone/ Skype interview to evaluate English language proficiency.
Summer Programs are open to students of all domains and who are seeking a high-level academic experience, whether the topic is a new or familiar one. However, for the Mergers and Acquisitions Summer Program, participants are encouraged to have taken the Investment Banking and International Finance Summer Program or to have a background in Accounting, Corporate Finance, and Economics.
Summer Programs are intensive two-week sessions that occur over a six-week period on campus. Participants select one program maximum per two-week session. Summer School participants can attend a maximum of three programs over the full six-week period.
Participants should carefully choose programs of interest when applying. Once admitted to a program, changes cannot be accepted.
Yes, students are required to show proof of insurance for the duration of their stay at HEC Paris. Insurance should include health coverage and personal liability coverage.
Full payment of academic fees is required within fourteen days after receiving official notice of program admission. Payment occurs online by credit card. Wire transfers can also be accepted.
Payment of the 50€ fee per application occurs by credit card at the time of the online application.
Students attending HEC Paris partner institutions are exempt from the application fee.
A participant has fourteen (14) days from the day of program payment to withdraw. In such a case, HEC Paris will reimburse all academic fees paid to HEC Paris in the course of the agreement, unless the withdrawal request is received on or after the start of the Program.
Any such request to withdraw a participant’s registration must be sent by email to Elyse Michaels-Berger at firstname.lastname@example.org. Students will then be asked to indicate by online signature, their request to withdrawal.

Students may consider taking additional insurance to cover their potential cancellation, including for medical reasons, after the above cited withdrawal period.
The Summer Program is a full-time program. Detailed schedules will be provided prior to program start.
Participants who are enrolled in the online session should plan for remote classroom sessions to occur between 8 am and 7 pm daily (CET) Paris time. Finance courses will have sessions on Saturdays.
Exceptionally, any participant who is unable to attend a class due to an international time difference, will have access to the course recording, when available. Participants will be expected to view each course the day of its being held in order to keep on pace with other learning in the program.
Evening work with other participants should be anticipated as part of class participation.
Student readings are provided in eletronic copy. If students wish to purchase additional recommended books, this is at their own charge.
The HEC Paris summer program is an intensive one leading to the award of 7 ECTS credits over a two-week period. Students are required to attend all classes and participate in groupwork to earn credits. The exception will be made for classes that are not compatible for students in international time zones. In this case, students will be asked to submit a course summary after viewing the course recording, when available.
For eligible credit transfer, students should verify with their home institution that any credits earned will be applicable.
Summer School students who successfully complete the participation requirement will earn an HEC Paris Certificate which will be provided to students in electronic copy at program close.
An electronic copy of transcripts and the Certificate will be made available to students via a secure server at the end of September.
All Summer School students will have full access to the HEC Learning Center. The HEC Paris Learning Center welcomes you online 24/7 and is one of the richest in Europe in terms of business and finance resources. As part of the Summer School programs, all students will benefit from a tutorial on how to access library resources for their coursework and any research needs.
