Opening remarks at the 10th Georges Doriot Days at the School of Management Fribourg – an inspiring start focused on the relationship between entrepreneurship and society.

The Dieter Schwarz Foundation Center for Family Business at HEC Paris was proud to take part in the 10th edition of the Georges Doriot Days – Entrepreneurship and Society, held at the Haute École de Gestion in Fribourg on June 30 and July 1, 2025. This year's theme, “Entrepreneurship at the Heart of Political and Social Transformations,” brought together scholars and practitioners to explore contemporary issues in entrepreneurship.

As part of the event, our Center awarded the Best Presentation Prize on entrepreneurship and family business succession to Foued Cheriet (Institut Agro Montpellier), Marine Chaillard (Université Catholique de Lille), and Hervé Hannin (Institut Agro Montpellier). Their research, focused on the opportunities and challenges of succession in viticulture in Occitanie, offered a cross-perspective analysis from both transferors and successors, shedding light on the human and strategic dimensions of rural family businesses.

Through its academic contributions and active participation in the sessions, the Center reaffirmed its commitment to research grounded in socio-economic realities and its pivotal role in advancing discussions around a more sustainable, family-driven model of capitalism.
