The making of responsible owners: a new article in Family Business Magazine

The HEC Paris Dieter Schwarz Foundation Center for Family Business is pleased to share a new article published in Family Business Magazine, one of North America's most influential practitioner outlets, by Léa Wang, Cécile de Lisle and Laurent Allard.

Drawing on a study of 31 enterprises that have stayed family-owned for more than a century, the authors challenge a widespread assumption: "being non-operational does not mean being passive." They make the case for "inclusive ownership" and show how enduring families cultivate responsible owners over time, because, as they conclude, "responsible ownership is never accidental."
