Mission-driven companies: how do family businesses engage?
A joint webinar bringing together key ecosystem players to explore governance, purpose and long-term value creation in family businesses.
The Family Business Center at HEC Paris co-organized a webinar dedicated to the role and contribution of mission-driven companies within family businesses, alongside the Communauté des entreprises à mission, Family & Co and HAATCH. With nearly 350 registered participants, the event highlighted the growing interest of business leaders, shareholders and stakeholders in issues of purpose, governance and long-term orientation—core dimensions of family enterprises.
The webinar opened with insights from Cécile de Lisle, Executive Director of the HEC Paris – Dieter Schwarz Center for Family Business, who provided an academic and strategic perspective on how family businesses approach the mission-driven company framework.
Family business leaders Bris Rocher, Pauline Boucon Duval and Jean-Pierre Cheval then shared their firsthand experiences, offering concrete illustrations of both the opportunities and the questions raised by adopting mission-driven governance.
Issues of governance, leadership by example, the embodiment of the company’s mission in day-to-day operations, and the alignment between family values and social and environmental responsibility were addressed through concrete examples.
