FAQ - Youth Programs
Applications generally open 3 - 4 months before the program begins.
Candidates are invited to pre-register their interest for the next edition. They will then be alerted when the application portal opens.
Applications are considered on a rolling basis so we encourage you to apply early as spaces are limited.
Applicants will be informed of decisions within two weeks of submitting their application.
Participants include high school-level students from 15 to 18 years old (at program start) of all nationalities who are proficient in the language of tuition for the program in question. Proof of proficiency will be requested as part of the application process. In exceptional cases, the Admissions Office may request a telephone interview to confirm the language level.
The HEC Paris Youth Programs are usually held in the month of July. However, individual programs may be held at other moments of the year. Please consult the program page for more details.

As part of the application process you will be asked to upload the following documents:
- ID (passport or similar)
- Photo
- Short essay question(s)
- Academic transcript
- Justification of English level (if the program is taught in English)
- €30 application fee payable online
Yes, students will be required to obtain insurance for the duration of their stay at HEC Paris. Insurance should include medical coverage and personal liability, as well as repatriation coverage for students coming from outside France.
The HEC Paris admissions team assesses applications for our Youth Programs independently and as such, no preferential advantage for any other program at HEC is afforded. Nonetheless, attending a Youth Program will allow you to gain an insight and familiarity with the HEC Paris campus.
Payment of a €30 non-refundable application fee occurs by credit card when submitting online application.
Depending on the program, a limited number of merit-based scholarships may be available. Please consult the Fees page of the program in question for further details.
Full payment is required within fourteen days after receiving positive admissions results.
Payment occurs online by credit card. Bank transfers can also be accepted.
A participant has fourteen (14) days from the day of admission to withdraw from the program. In such a case, HEC Paris will reimburse all refundable sums paid to HEC Paris in the course of the agreement, unless the withdrawal request is received on or after the start of the Program.
Any request to withdraw a participant’s registration must be sent by email to Ms. Elyse Michaels-Berger at youthprograms@hec.fr, including bank details for reimbursement, or by regular mail to the following address:

Students may consider taking additional insurance to cover their potential cancellation, including for medical reasons, after the above cited withdrawal period.
Programs held on the HEC Paris campus in Jouy-en-Josas allow participants to by lunch in the student canteen or at the on-campus café. However, we recommend that they bring their own pack lunch.
Programs held at other locations may not provide canteen facilities. As participants will not be permitted to leave the premises, they will be required to bring a pack lunch with them each day.

The HEC Paris campus is located in Jouy-en-Josas, 25 km from Paris.
Please check each program page for details on dates, arrival and departure times as these will vary from program to program.
100% participation (other than justified absences) is mandatory to obtain the Youth Program Certificate of Attendance.
No, all class materials will be provided.
No final exam, there will be a group presentation for most programs. Please consult the program page for more details.
Each student will receive a certificate of attendance at the end of the program.
Students are encouraged to bring their own laptop computer for their research and group project. They may also wish to use it for note-taking. Free WIFI is available on campus.
All international students are expected to verify requirements with their local French consulate and plan accordingly.
All students who confirm their place and make full payment of their tuition fees will be sent a digital Certificate of Enrolment which can be used for visa application purposes.
