VivaTech 2019 : 100 startups, 1000 HEC Paris participants
For the third consecutive year and for three days, HEC Paris was represented at VivaTech, an international convention for start-ups & leaders, co-organized by Publicis and Les Echos.
Our Entrepreneurship support programs were honored: HEC incubator, HEC Challenge+, HEC-42 Startup Launchpad, with 30 startups presenting their project or solution, and, at the same time, the Executive Education programs, which presented entrepreneurship, intrapreneurship, innovation and digital transformation training to the many visitors. From the 1st day at 9am, our stand was overwhelmed by a crowd that came to see President Macron on the neighboring stand, that of BPI France, and was full of people all day long!
Among the most attractive projects was Backacia, the first digital platform dedicated to the reuse of building materials and Leaf, an all-in-one solution for retailers that uses smartphones to bridge the gap between consumers and retailers. These two start-ups attracted many "Executive tours" designed to help C-Level executives, marketers, brand managers, innovation leaders, learn more about their recycling solutions for construction and digital marketing.
This Thursday was really an intense day for the HEC Paris stand, which later in the afternoon was visited by Cedric O, Secretary of State for Digital Technology (H2006).
Morgane Suquet and Aurélie Berthon, Alumni of the Master HEC Entrepreneurs, presented their "Cuvée-privée" solution, which allows wine lovers to adopt vines in an exceptional estate to receive their own cuvée. The conversation between the Minister and the entrepreneurs quickly turned into memories of the campus, including those with the BDE...
100 startups of the HEC eco-system at VivaTech
Friday - back to business with 10 new startups: Backacia, Minimiento, Askandy, Mawa, Geouniq, Data Soluce, Badakan, Kraaft, Aequora, AdaTech School and start-up pitches on the different VivaTech pitch contests. There were no less than 100 startups of the HEC eco-system attending over these three days!
Clement Henry and his start-up Solen, a solution to help real estate professionals make homes brighter and more efficient, received the "Pepite France" award in partnership with Les Echos Start.
Saturday saw a promising start-up from the HEC community, Liebr, a project born during the HEC-42 Launchpad program 2019 that connects motorcycle users to independent mechanics for a wide range of services. Liebr also participated in VivaTech's first inter-school pitch competition.
Finally, it was a project from the HEC-42 Launchpad named "Alfred", an innovative solution to improve the lives of Parkinson's patients and their families, that wan the public award, and “Neolithe”, a project of the Ecole Polytechnique that wan the student contest.
The Saturday BtoC day attracted many individuals interested in the Askandy solution for connecting artisans, Hoplabon, provider of fresh market produce, Paytrip, the Family wallet, ToutesMesAides, a tool to help people identify their entitlement to subsidies, RPUR the anti-pollution mask, Yogitoy, Sport Mooves, AdaTech School, etc.
Microfactory, Aequora and R-Pur, all provided demonstrations on the stand.
The Postmii photobooth attracted many visitors and offers them “postcards of the future”!
With the 124,000 visitors of its fourth edition, VivaTech has really become an unmissable event for our startups and our eco-system over the last three years!
