Qatar and its Large Projects: a study ground for HEC Paris Masters Students

Fifty-one students from HEC Paris' Specialized Master in Large Project Management visited Qatar as part of their study trip. During their five-day stay in the country, from April 12th to 16th, the students learned about ongoing projects through briefings and site visits.

Qatar and its Large Projects: a study ground for HEC Paris Masters Students - Presentation and site visit Msheireb Doha Downtown Project

Among the site projects, the group of students visited Al Wakra Stadium construction site following a presentation by the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy, Red Line South Metro and Msheireb Doha Downtown Project.

The visits were coupled with several presentations by directors and managers of the projects, and the students also had the privilege of being the first delegation to be received by the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy for the 2022 World Cup, and to visit the building site for the Al Wakra stadium.

In addition, several keynote speakers shared their insights on the economic history and development of Qatar as well as the opportunities for doing business in the region.

His Excellency, Mr. Eric Chevallier, Ambassador of France to Qatar also greeted the students and shared encouraging words with them. The students had the opportunity to meet with graduates from HEC Paris in Qatar during a networking event.

"It is very important to continuously hold study trips to Qatar to provide HEC Paris participants the opportunity to network with locally-based members of the HEC Paris community. Such exchanges offer participants from Paris extremely valuable information about the culture, projects and economy of Qatar allowing them to be exposed to the Gulf countries practices and diversified economies," said Nora Kerbache.

"Study trips of this nature promote an overarching exchange experience offering participants a range of different cultural and community perspectives", added Professor Kerbache. "Therefore, I encourage more HEC Paris participants to visit Qatar in the future as this builds awareness of multi-faceted approaches to learning. It is imperative for HEC Paris in Qatar to strengthen bonds with the main campus in Paris."
