HEC Paris ranks first among providers of pre-experience masters in finance (MiF) courses — that is, for students with little or no relevant professional experience. The tables set out information on the best programmes worldwide in this area, as well as on the top three courses for people who have already worked in the finance sector. It is based on surveys of schools and of alumni who completed their masters in 2017, writes the Financial Times. 

Creative Destruction Lab, through its newest member school HEC Paris, has announced the launch of CDL Climate, an initiative that will coordinate entrepreneurs, scientists, mentors, and investors in a structured process to increase the probability of success for high-impact and scalable solutions to climate change challenges, writes Poets & Quants.

Alberto Alemanno, professor of EU law at HEC Paris, says Europe observers remain concerned about the lasting effects of lockdown, and its lifting, on the principle of free movement on the continent, in an interview for France 24.

Letting EU countries re-establish borders was wrong in the first place. Border controls – as well as selective quarantine regimes – reflect an artificial, misleading attempt at resorting to nationality as the dividing line between the healthy and unhealthy, writes HEC Paris' European law professor Alberto Alemanno, in an op-ed for The Guardian.

The question for all businesses remains how long it will take for the French and global economies to return to quasi-normal. Tomasz Michalski, an associate professor of economics and decision sciences at the HEC Paris business school, predicts that the French tourism industry is likely to miss out on an entire year of revenue and expects the government to put in place additional policies to aid to the sector, writes US News & World Report. 

An MBA remains an attractive prospect for many students. HEC business school near Paris reports a current increase in applications after years of growth due to the relatively low total cost of the course and resulting high return on investment.
