HEC Paris has been described as a “leadership school.” According to a study carried out in January by Times Higher Education , HEC Paris produces more CEOs than any business school apart from Harvard and Stanford. Many students are also opting to become their own bosses and the school produces 100 startups a year. The MBA program has a distinctly international flavour as 93% of participants come from outside France which provides perfect preparation for international careers for a majority of graduates who’ll be working in locations far removed from their cultural norms. In order to recruit the best talent,  leading luxury houses are developing formal programmes with the best universities. Kering sponsors the “Kering Luxury Certificate” at HEC Paris which includes seminars and visits to Kering brands, as well as an annual competition judged by HEC professors and Kering directors.

The possibility of shorter, cheaper MBA programs isn't the only appealing aspect of earning an MBA outside of the U.S. Having international experience will get you noticed by CEOs and powerful and large alumni network, such as HEC Paris' of more than 50,000 individuals based in 130-plus countries, is also a vital tool.

In September, HEC Paris launched one of its most ambitious education courses, the Online Master in Innovation and Entrepreneurship.

The shorter one-year course length offered by MBA programs in Europe has seen demand rocket in the last 12 months. HEC Paris closed its admission for the September 2017 MBA intake early due to high demand, and with a record GMAT class average.

HEC Paris and Ecole Supérieure Des Affaires (ESA) have launched a Masters in Entrepreneurship, targetting students interested in starting their own business, taking over an existing business or aiming to work in entrepreneurial units of larger companies. The program, starting in September 2018, is supported by the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture in Beirut and Mount Lebanon.

Should you follow a traditionally hierarchical organizing structure, or should you opt for the greater flexibility and autonomy of the liberated company model? According to HEC Paris professor, Sri Kudaravalli, the correct organization to adopt for optimal collective performance shouldn’t be decided in terms of tradition versus trend, but instead by clearly distinguishing between different types of tasks and the coordination required by each.

HEC Paris and Yale School of Management have launched a joint program, the M2M, aimed at students with fewer than three years’ work experience who don’t want to wait several years to get a graduate business degree. Dean of HEC Paris, Peter Todd says, "What we're trying to do with this program is build a model where we’re going to help you get prepared to go out into the world and, hopefully, get you thinking about how you’ll contribute and give back to the world. I think with the M2M there's this notion of multiple degrees with multiple schools which creates mobility within the program, but it also creates mobility in life and in opportunity.”

Researchers from HEC Paris, INSEAD, Singapore Management University and University of Technology Sydney have used data from Kickstarter, the world’s number one platform for up-and-coming projects, to evaluate what a successful crowdfunding project comprises. They analysed 50,000 projects in nine product-based categories such as Food, Technology, and Video Games from the inception of Kickstarter in 2009 until February 2017 to write their research paper entitled "Does the Crowd Support Innovation? Innovation Claims and Success on Kickstarter."

“Design thinking”, a “human-centred” approach to problem solving that emphasises the customer, is becoming more and more prominent in EMBA courses. At HEC Paris, it is taught in cases where participants can actually use the method in a specific situation, or "through a simulation that condenses the main steps in a controlled environment,” says Professor Sihem Jouini.
