2016 commencement ceremony
Grande École, MSc and Specialized Master’s students gather for HEC Paris Commencement Ceremony.

Over 3000 graduates, family members and friends attended the traditional commencement ceremony.
The commencement program began with the procession led by students in gowns, the HEC Board of Directors, and professors.
Fanny Olivier-Autran and Younes Bensaïd, both students from the Master in Management – Grande École presented the Ceremony and introduced the commencement speakers.
Danone CEO Emmanuel Faber addressed his congratulatory speech to future graduates. Watch his moving speech below.
The ceremony was also marked by the first commencement speech from Dean Peter Todd. He expressed his pride of sharing this important moment in student’s lives and the special sense of belonging to the HEC Community.
Student’s inspiring speeches
2 students contributed to the ceremony’s success by sharing with the audience.
Manuel Henin, a student from the Master in Management - Grande École majoring in Sustainability and Social Innovation, invited future alumni to cultivate openness and curiosity. He also reminded them of their responsibilities towards society as future business leaders and concluded his speech by a call to support the HEC community.
Maryline Zheng, a student from the LLM/Specialized Master in Law and International Management extended her gratitude to students, professors, career coaches, and contributors of the HEC Foundation for their support. She congratulated herself for living out the HEC motto: “the more you know, the more you dare”, as she notably organized on campus the first Chinese Business Day, a career fair dedicated to Chinese companies. Finally, Maryline Zheng encouraged the 2016 promotion to actively participate to the HEC Community in the future.
The ceremony also featured the traditional, comedic “Graduation movie” created by students.
