The Post-Graduate Program in Global Executive Coaching is a seven-month, 24-day program building coaching capability aligned with EMCC Senior Practitioner standards. It equips experienced professionals to coach ethically and effectively in international organisations, integrating empirical evidence, the psychology of behaviour change, self-awareness and reflection. Formed of two stackable Executive Certificates — Foundations of global executive coaching and Advanced systemic & future-focused global executive coaching — it spans the coaching craft, the self, psychological approaches, team and systemic coaching, evidence-based practice and the future of coaching including AI.

Objectives

  • Master the core coaching competencies as defined by the EMCC and ICF to support ethical leadership and organizational transformation. 
  • Run effective coaching sessions, establishing clear ground rules and contract, building relationship, using listening, questioning and summarizing skills to address complex leadership challenges. 
  • Integrate a competent use of a range of coaching models, tools and techniques to facilitate sustainable individual and organizational change. 
  • Acquire a thorough grounding in contemporary psychological theories as applied to coaching.
  • Develop the capability to facilitate deep insights and transformative learning experiences for clients, translating these insights into actionable steps, measurable outcomes and sustainable organizational impact.
  • Demonstrate expertise in evidence-based coaching strategies for senior leaders, aligned with the latest scientific research and EMCC competencies, to address complex leadership and organizational challenges.
  • Enhance leadership capabilities by integrating coaching practices that foster resilience, agility and strategic thinking while supporting the development of an ethical and responsible managerial culture.
  • Critically apply ethical frameworks and reflective practices to navigate leadership challenges, ensuring adherence to professional standards and promoting an ethical managerial culture. 
  • Foster environments that encourage psychological safety, promoting open dialogue, innovative thinking and creating conditions conducive to individual and collective performance. 
  • Engage in reflective practice and self-exploration to craft and refine your personal coaching style and philosophy, while developing the capacity to critically analyse professional situations and adapt coaching interventions accordingly. 
  • Commit to ongoing professional development and engage with a community of practice for continuous skill enhancement post-program completion.

The coaching conversation, active listening and powerful questioning, contracting and behaviour change, ethics and the ICF/EMCC competencies, including contracting and working across cultural contexts

Self-awareness and the Self as an instrument, cultural assumptions and biases, AI assumptions and biases and the shaping of a personal coaching philosophy

Cognitive-behavioural, solution-focused, person-centred, existential, positive psychology and further approaches, with coaching for well-being and resilience

Group and team dynamics, psychological safety, inclusion and belonging, Appreciative Inquiry, and coaching multicultural teams.

Measuring coaching effectiveness, the working alliance, goalfocused coaching, and the evidence base for well-being and engagement coaching.

Artificial intelligence and coaching at scale, ethics and duty of care, systemic thinking, and creativity in practice.

A minimum of five years of professional experience, coaching experience (formal or informal), and fluency in English.

Learning methods & evaluations

Evidence-based teaching, experiential learning, coaching in dyads, triads and groups, demonstrations, simulations and role plays, case studies, reflective practice, individual coaching and small-group supervision. 
Pre-module reading and reflection between modules. 
Six assessments across the program: 
• Two 30-minutecoaching-practice videos with reflective commentary 
• Two reflective assignments (a journal developing one’s coaching philosophy and an account of a team-coaching experience) 
• Two essays (a chosen psychological approach to coaching, and the importance of evidence-based coaching in organisations). 
All assessments are mapped to the EMCC and ICF competency frameworks
