What Happened at HEC in the UK in 2020?

With its challenges, 2020 has been a truly rich year for HEC in the UK - supporting the community, developing innovative and interactive actions with students & alumni, while achieving a digital transformation and adapting to an unusual context.  With 100 events offered to over 3000 alumni in the UK and multiple initiatives for our students on campus, major achievements were accomplished despite the context. This year was the opportunity for the UK office to reinvent itself and dare to innovate to contribute to the community. 

Bring London on Campus: supporting our students

Since our students could no longer come to London, the HEC UK Office brought London on campus to help companies and individuals recruit, inspire and connect with HEC students

Companies were invited to meet HEC students via virtual study trips and company presentations. This new alternative, along with virtual career fairs, enabled students to meet more companies than they used to. Students were also able to hear from inspiring alumni and partners, who virtually shared their expertise about various topics thanks to our London Inspiration series deployed across HEC programmes.

Bringing Campus to London: supporting our HEC alumni & partners

HEC in the UK also aims to contribute to alumni and partners professional and personal growth, stemming from HEC’s excellence and expertise.  The UK office thus shared HEC expertise & knowledge with cutting-edge masterclasses by HEC professors and experts, career and life-project workshops, and inspiring events by our alumni clubs, across various topics from Sustainability, Finance and Tech to Innovation & Leisure.

The HEC UK Office also tried its best to liven our community’s spirits by putting together cheerful and entertaining events, like the Virtual Christmas Party, a festive networking evening we will remember! Some alumni even had the chance to receive a visit from HEC elves ...  

Reaching across borders: the world has no more limits

Our accelerated digital transformation this year offered a great opportunity to keep extending our international network by virtually crossing borders and joining forces with HEC at the international level for all events. Many events were organized with speakers from around the world, with our HEC international offices in the US, Germany, China, Japan and Ivory Coast.

This year has been possible thanks to our strong community. We are very grateful to our fantastic, exceptional alumni volunteers & corporate ambassadors, who remained involved and animated the various clubs so dynamically!
