#WEAREHEC: Meet Chris Liu, Master in Management Student

Aspiring to hit the ground running on Wall St., discover Chris Liu's journey to HEC Paris as well as his hopes and aspirations for the future.

His story

I am 6’3” Hong Kong-born Chinese, and I take pride in my international experience. Before coming to HEC, I attended a military high school in California, got my undergraduate degree from Cornell University in New York, and worked a bit as a management consultant in New Zealand. 

His career

For the moment being, I’m shooting for a career on Wall St., and to be actively involved in the financial markets. I wish to be able to gain a strong professional network to hopefully start my own venture. 

His values

I am extremely self-driven and competitive – knowing there are people out there working harder than I am every day drives me to thrive. For shorter-term motivations, I am currently prepping for the CFA exam, following a strict diet and work-out schedule, and trying to keep up with global news and markets. 

His hobbies

I love playing basketball and snooker; I love EDM, cooking, drinking good wine, and mixing interesting cocktails, and I love binge-watching movies and TV shows. I used to play the piano a lot, but not so much lately. Oh, and I also am a big fan of hotel-hopping! I’m passionate about a lot things – NBA, cars, good food, investing, working out… My personal projects for 2021 H1 are to pass the French B1 level, lose some extra lbs., and to identify and lose one bad habit for every month.
