Inspiring the Next Generation of Business Leaders
Leadership Fellows
Leadership Fellows was launched in the USA by Gary Brinderson and started at HEC Paris in 2005. Since then, more than 800 MBA students have joined this original peer advisory group that has earned a worldwide reputation for the quality of its leadership development approach.
The program's primary goal is to help students define their personal values and life purpose, ultimately shaping them into the best people and business leaders who will leave a positive impact on society and within organizations.
As part of HEC Talents' career offering, this unique program provides students a sounding board of trusted peers who offer them diverse perspectives to help them make better decisions in their personal and professional lives while discussing key topics such as leadership, diversity or emotional intelligence. That experience is deepened by two other activities:
- One-on-one personalized mentorship sessions with Leadership Fellows, Co-Chairs Bernard Bismuth, Marie France George and Thierry Voiriot to help students reflect on and develop their life and career choices, as well as their personal purpose and philosophy.
- Guest speaker meetings with business leaders from various business horizons, who share professional advice and who open up about the personal challenges they have faced.
The program is open to a limited number of MBAs in September (36 students) and in January (24 students), who come together in a confidential and safe environment.
Leadership Fellows is for MBA students who are willing to actively reflect upon their own successes and failures, who are not afraid to question themselves, and who are ready to lead others in the Leadership Fellows community, growing personally and professionally to become impactful leaders in the future.
Companionship Program
Offered as part of the MBA academic curriculum, the Companionship program pairs MBA students with HEC alumni in a journey of mutual support and reflection. Grounded in the practice of "companionship"—a form of reciprocal accompaniment—it helps students develop the self-awareness and communication skills needed to make purposeful career decisions.
Through classroom sessions, structured meetups, and dedicated tools, participants explore personal intentions, professional dilemmas, and the deeper meaning of leadership. More than a mentoring program, this experience fosters a space of trust, co-responsibility, and shared growth between students and alumni.
