HEC Paris Finance Networking Event: An event centered on careers in Finance
On Thursday 24th September, the careers department at HEC Paris organized a large-scale networking event between HEC students and alumni.
A number of HEC alumni representing over 20 financial institutions were on the HEC Paris campus to speak about their jobs and explain their business’ activities.
Alumni testimonials enabled students to understand the specifics of different jobs in Finance. The event also allowed considerable time for Q&A, and so students were given tailored answers to particular queries they had.
The event was split across several rooms, each devoted to a specific aspect of Finance. The jobs of HEC alumni were related to the following focus areas: asset management, risk management, financial markets, mergers and acquisitions and corporate finance.
Grande Ecole student, Nemanja Rosic, who attended the presentation on wealth management, said “I found Véronique de Lalande’s presentation of private banking at ODDO & Cie very inspiring. The presentation outlined her job responsibilities in wealth management very clearly. I also discovered that she had several jobs throughout her career, therefore, I learned that it isn’t necessary to specialize in one particular area of finance.”
These meetings were an excellent way to prepare for the Finance Forum which will take place on campus on the 8th October.
