HEC Energy Club welcomes Christophe de Margerie, CEO of Total

The HEC Energy Club and students of the Energy & Finance Certificate are pleased to welcome M. Christophe de Margerie, CEO of Total, to analyse the strategic issues facing a leader of the oil industry during this period of transition towards cleaner energy.

Christophe de Margerie started his career at Total in 1974 “since it was the closest company to home”. He became Chief Executive Officer in 2007, and Chairman and CEO of Total in 2010.
Free spirited and deliberately provocative, this passionate debater is not afraid to defend his ideas that sometimes flirts with controversy. Supporter of shale gas and of higher tax rates, M. de Margerie invites other corporate leaders to be more involved in public debates.
Whether you are a defender of environmental issues, a supporter of shale gas, or simply curious of discovering an exceptional individual, HEC Energy Club and students of the Energy & Finance Certificate welcome you to join them on May 13th for what should be a lively, interactive and passionate discussion.
Later on, we welcome you to continue the discussion with M. de Margerie and your colleagues over a cocktail.
The conference will take place on May 13th at 8pm in the Bellon Auditorium (S Building). Please note that the conference will be in French.
