Individual research program

Under the IRP program, the PhD program offers the opportunity for Professors at HEC Paris to invite advanced PhD students with strong research credentials to join their department as visiting students.

Individual research students have the opportunity to join the HEC Paris community of researchers for a limited period of time to hone their research skills and advance their research projects.

Duration: The timing of visits under the IRP program is flexible (in general between 3 and 9 months)

Admissions: The demand to be enrolled as a visiting PhD student under the IRP program must always be made by a Professor of HEC Paris who is willing to act as the primary host (the student's home supervisor sometimes makes the first contact with the  host Professor at HEC). The application file must include

  • Invitation letter from a HEC Paris professor
  • Recommendation letter from your supervisor from your home institution
  • Completed IRP application form
  • Copy of diplomas
  • Copy of research papers (thesis, publications…)
  • A brief description of your research project (2-3 pages)
  • Birth certificate (translated into French or English)
  • A passport sized photo

The complete application must  be sent by email only to doctorat@hec.fr. Please indicate 'Application IRP + your name' in the subject of your message.

Application fee: 0€. We do not require any application fee for this program.

Application deadline: We receive applications all year round.

Tuition:  950 €/academic year. Tuition is adapted accordingly to the time spent as a visitor in the program (105€/month).

 

An HEC Paris certificate can be awarded to PhD students that are visitors under the IRP program.
