Biography

Laurence Lehmann-Ortega is an Education Track Professor in the Strategy and Business Policy department at HEC Paris. She teaches strategy and business model innovation across HEC’s Master, MBA, EMBA, and Executive Education programs. She also serves as Academic Director of the Trium EMBA and leads several custom programs for HEC Executive Education.

After earning her PhD from IAE Aix-en-Provence, Laurence began her academic career at Montpellier Business School before joining HEC Paris. Earlier in her career, she worked as a strategy consultant, following her graduation from HEC in 1993.

Laurence specializes in disruptive strategies and business model innovation, with a focus on helping established companies meet the challenges of sustainable development. Her research has been published in journals such as Long Range PlanningM@n@gement, and Revue Française de Gestion.

She co-authored Strategor, a leading textbook in strategy, and co-developed Odyssey 3.14, a practical framework for reinventing business models. This approach is detailed in the book Odyssey 3.14 – (Re)invent your business model(Dunod, 2nd edition, 2024).

Laurence is a two-time recipient of the Vernimmen–BNP Paribas Best HEC Professor Award (2014, 2016) and continues to be regularly nominated for this honor.
